Billy was a character and did everything but speak. He came to me after my mum died and we had him for 4 years. He adored my other westie Ben and the two of them were very special, they ate together, slept together and played together. Ben had emphysema and when he died Billy missed him so much, I thought for the first month he seemed very depressed, then he suddenly became unwell and would not eat, this carried on for a week until he succumbed to his illness. It was so sad, we buried his ashes beside Ben and I know they are both together again. Someday we will all meet and it will be like old times, until we meet again, take care wee man and know you were loved and are still loved. xxx

When a furchild dies, a cloud turns into an angel and flies up to tell God to put another flower on a pillow.
A bird gives the message back to the world and sings a silent prayer that makes the rain cry.
Our furchildren may disappear from our lives, but they never really go away.
Their spirits put the sun to bed, wake up the grass, and spin the earth in dizzy circles.
Sometimes you can see the Rainbow Angels dancing in a cloud during the daytime when they're supposed to be napping.
They paint the rainbows and the sunsets.
They tug at the tide and make the waves splash.
They toss shooting stars and listen to wishes.
And when they sing windsongs, they whisper to us....
"Don't miss me too much. The view is nice, and I'm doing just fine."

The Orphan and the stray

Across the brook near the Rainbow Bridge
There stands a little boy
Who never had a puppy
And scarcely had a toy.
He had never really had a home
Or a loving family
His parents had left the world
Quite sudden and tragically
His life on earth was lonely
Because he never quite fit in
He was just a little different
That was his only sin
Each night as he would lie in bed
He'd give the Lord his plea
Please send me a companion

Now on the darkest, coldest streets
God heard another plea
A tiny little puppy
Cried out in agony
Please send a little boy
To share my life with me
I promise I'll be no trouble
My family has abandoned me.
The night that God heard their pleas
They had each taken their final breath
They crossed through the meadows of the Rainbow Bridge
Where there is no cruelty or death.
When the little boy and puppy
Looked across the brook they would see
That God had answered their prayers
And granted each a family.
